First Photo Shoot

She seems to be a natural with the camera!

First visit to Dr. Hunter

Dr. Hunter said she is as healthy as a baby girl can be so we don't have to take her back until her 2 month checkup. She was already back to her birth weight!

Tummy Time

Our pediatrician told us to go ahead and start putting Ali on her tummy when she is awake to get her used to tummy time. So far she loves it.

The Sling

This was Alayna's first ride in the sling. Thankfully she loved it because she wants to be held most of the time and her big brother is a very high maintenance child. : ) She is only scrunching her face up because of the bright light.

Roses

The pink roses and balloon Dad brought us in the hospital.

Ali and the doctor

Alayna even opened her eyes for a picture with Dr. Reinertson who delivered her.

She weighed in.....

at 7 lbs. 10 oz and 19.5 inches long

She's Here!

We had a doctor appointment on Monday, January 19 and the doctor gave us the option to be induced because I had been dilated and having contractions for a couple of weeks already. I really didn't want to be induced, but after talking to the doctor about not wanting Pitocin, he said we could try another drug that was a more "natural" option. We went to the hospital the next morning at 5:30 a.m. and they gave me the drug at 6 a.m. The doctor came in about 8:45 a.m. and broke my water. Contractions started getting pretty intense around 9:30. At 10:30 a.m. the nurse told me she needed to check me sometime between then and 11. All of a sudden she said I just have a feeling I need to go ahead and check you. She paged the doctor at 10:32, he got there at 10:39 and Alayna was born at 10:46 a.m. Another quick delivery and all went perfect! (except for the doctor almost missing the delivery) The nurses were a nervous wreck because they thought they were going to have to deliver her. This picture was taken in labor and delivery right after Alayna was born.

Labor and Delivery Nurse

This is a picture of Alayna with our labor and delivery nurse. She was fabulous!

I can finally stretch!

The first several months of pregnancy Alayna was stretched out across my stomach and then of course she got too big and had to curl up. This was just a couple of hours after she was born and she was very happy to be all stretched out again.

First Bath

This was Alayna's first bath at the hospital. She loves getting her hair washed!

36 week sonogram

We had a sonogram last week to find out if Alayna was still breech and thankfully she turned and is in the correct position!!!!! We actually got a decent picture of her face this time since she doesn't have as much room to move around. : ) We made it through the holidays and we are ready for her to make her debut anytime now.
