We had a doctor appointment on Monday, January 19 and the doctor gave us the option to be induced because I had been dilated and having contractions for a couple of weeks already. I really didn't want to be induced, but after talking to the doctor about not wanting Pitocin, he said we could try another drug that was a more "natural" option. We went to the hospital the next morning at 5:30 a.m. and they gave me the drug at 6 a.m. The doctor came in about 8:45 a.m. and broke my water. Contractions started getting pretty intense around 9:30. At 10:30 a.m. the nurse told me she needed to check me sometime between then and 11. All of a sudden she said I just have a feeling I need to go ahead and check you. She paged the doctor at 10:32, he got there at 10:39 and Alayna was born at 10:46 a.m. Another quick delivery and all went perfect! (except for the doctor almost missing the delivery) The nurses were a nervous wreck because they thought they were going to have to deliver her. This picture was taken in labor and delivery right after Alayna was born.
